Photo of the Day : 355-365 And Beyond!

April 2, 2012

Last week my husband Sean and I had a killer time exploring an abandoned mining town in the mountains of Colorado. it was pretty incredible, actually. I’ll let the pictures do the talking. My year of photo-of-the-day has ended, and I didn’t really keep up to it as I’d liked. I have 365 photos, but they were in no way taken each day of the year like I had intended. At any rate, it was a great experience! I’ll post later on “what’s next” for this blog, but you can be sure I will continue posting regularly to show my photos and other art I’m working on. Meanwhile, hope you enjoy this set!

Great set! I’ve been here before and have always wondered what it looked like during the winter! Great coverage of it!

Thanks! It was an adventure just getting around with the snow being 3+feet deep…

Liza-These photos tell such a story, and leave me wanting more, more, more! Such great compositions you have here. You two must have had great fun tromping around there. Thank you for sharing these!

Did this fall into the category of breaking and entering? The pictures are worth it.

We didn’t do any breaking, it’s all kind of out in the open….though there may or may not have been some trespassing involved. I plead the fifth :0)

Wow, an era gone by. You captured that certain sadness one feels at a ghost town. At such sacrifice, too—snow, mountains and all. Thank you.

Its funny how the old and abandoned – structures, I mean – can be so appealing and beautiful, isn’t it?

Thanks for these shots. I can’t wait until my climbing season begins. Good fodder.
